Top 10 Fabrics Market is expected to grow moderately during the forecast period 2023-2028
Recently a study was conducted on textile–based triboelectric nanogenerators for smart fabrics. Textile-based triboelectric nanogenerators (t-TENGs) are best for harvesting mechanical energy and self-powered sensing for wearable technology. Flexibility, breathability, and lightweight are some of the advantages and it is easy to fabricate and thereby shows excellent output performance. The three dominant types of device structure and the new emerging design are based on three-dimensional textiles.
Recently a study was done to develop artificial skin for sweating guarded hotplates and manikins based on weft-knitted fabrics. Devices such as sweating manikins, cylinders, & hotplates are used for measuring the thermal and moisture transfer properties of textiles. An important feature of these measurement devices is that the design of the outer covering fabric tightly enfolds the device-like skin. It was found that the thermal and moisture-management properties of the fabrics do not only depend on the fiber properties but also on their geometrical properties such as thickness, diameter, and number of stitch pores. The two tested fabric types PES_19f30_SET and PES_28f48_GL exhibited superior characteristics that are suitable to be used on measurement devices.
Due to rapid industrialization & urbanization, there has been a demand for advanced fabrics that can be used for various purposes such as military, sports, fire resistant fabric, curtains & drapes, protective wear & surgical fabrics. The growth in the healthcare market and increasing awareness regarding health and hygiene have boosted the antimicrobial textile market. Antimicrobial textiles are fiber-based substrates on which antimicrobial agents are coated to either kill or stop the growth of the pathogen. These fabrics are used for many applications such as sportswear, curtains & drapes, carpets, surgical supplies workwear, protective wear, bedding, intimates, and footwear. The rise in demand from the construction industry & medical industry for applications such as pipeline fittings, tubes, rods, for constructing roofs or sheets, cardiovascular & peripheral vascular grafts, plastic surgery, orthopedics, and dental, are some of the factors driving the growth of the PTFE (Teflon) fabric market. PTFE (Teflon) fabric has many notable properties such as it is non-sticky, friction-free, self-lubricating, non-flammable, non-brittle, non-toxic, resistant to atmospheric conditions, fungus growth, and chemicals. It is used in end-user industries such as construction, chemical, food, packaging, and textile.
