The process through which water is brought all the way from roots of the plant to the underside of leaves, where it evaporates and is released into the atmosphere is called transpiration. Transpiration is necessary for a plant to transfer materials inside it. However, there are instances such as high temperatures in which transpiration takes place at a faster pace.
To prevent excessive water loss from the plant, it is required to prevent or reduce transpiration. Anti tran spirants are used for this purpose. They are made from natural or chemical compounds. They are generally applied to the leaves of plants to reduce transpiration. They are used on crops, cut flowers, Christmas trees and newly planted shrubs to protect them from drying out. Some of the anti Tran spirants work by inhibiting the release of hydrogen cation from the guard cells or by inducing stomatal closure.
The inability to supply sufficient water for the plants due to the increasing water scarcity is the major factor for the increase in demand for transplants. Increasing horticulture practice, the growing popularity of gardens and homegrown shrubs due to the increase in disposable incomes, and the increasing use of cut flowers and small trees for decorative and aesthetic purposes are expected to drive the growth of the agriculture's anti-transfer spirant market. However, a lack of proper awareness among farmers and high prices of the products are restraining the market growth.
MARKET SEGMENTATION
This research report on the Middle East and African agricultural anti-transpirant market is segmented and sub-segmented into the following categories.
By Type
- Stomatal Closing Type
- Film Forming Type
- Reflectance Type
