Thermal dissolution (TD) of Xilinhaote lignite (XL) was carried out in n-hexane, toluene and methanol & the residues obtained after thermal dissolution (RTDs) of Xilinhaote lignite (XL) was pyrolyzed at a low temperature of 550 °C to study the effect of TD on structural characteristics and pyrolysis behaviors of Xilinhaote lignite (XL).  The test results obtained were remarkable; methanol showed the largest aromatic cluster size. 
  • A recent study showed that self – assembled fullerene crystals can act as excellent aromatic vapor sensors. A liquid-liquid interface was created between C60 & isopropyl alcohol & C60 & dodecylbenzene at 25oC. Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) test results showed that the melon shaped nanoporous C60 acts as an excellent sensing system for aromatic vapors, because of their easy diffusion through the porous architecture and strong π–π bond interactions with the sp2 – hybridized carbon.
